INSPECTIONS

MANUFACTURING INSPECTION

“Inspection” services for the main stages of equipment manufacturing. Their main objective is to verify the manufactured product in relation to what was designed and what is required by the design code. We carry out everything from verifying mechanical calculations, verifying and commenting on design drawings, manufacturing plans, inspection and testing plans, to inspections. Field services are overseen and supported by engineering. Our inspection and maintenance experience is embodied in the comments. We also carry out audits and visits to qualify suppliers.

OPERATION INSPECTION

Complete and integrated equipment inspection services. Planned, supervised inspections and results analyzed by a multidisciplinary and experienced engineering team. Field services include conventional and special NDTs, and Metallurgical Services (Damage Analysis, Metallographic Replicas and Hardness Measurement).

The results are interpreted by engineering, which performs the analyses, calculations and Repair Projects necessary to guarantee a minimum physical state for the equipment for safe operation. Reports and Inspection Programs are issued and managed by the CVR-RBI software, developed in-house.

ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

Monitoring and inspection of assemblies in order to avoid damage to equipment and the introduction of defects, mainly in welds, heat treatments and field adjustments. Includes carrying out the initial inspection required by NR-13.

INTEGRITY ASSESSMENT

Assessment of the physical condition and estimated residual life of equipment that already has operating time close to the design limit life. It is a legal requirement for boilers. NR-13 requires that it be executed after 25 years of operation.

The diagnosis is performed by specialists through the examination of the equipment and the application and interpretation of the NDT results directed by them. The services, in addition to the survey and interpretation of project data, include process and history of operation, inspection and maintenance. Elaboration and execution of “Inspection Plans”, analysis of results, issuance of conclusive reports and recommendations for reconstitution of the defined minimum physical state, extension of life and improvements in operational procedures for inspection and maintenance.

The respective Repair Projects, the Future Inspection Program, and the Inspection Plans are provided for each component of the equipment. Applicable in static equipment such as: boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, pipes and furnaces.

Analogously to the medical review that we do when reaching a certain age, the equipment must also be submitted to the “Integrity Assessment” when completing a certain period of operation or when showing signs of damage, even if prematurely. From the diagnosis made based on an engineering study to determine the possible deterioration mechanisms and the associated damage of each of the equipment components, examinations and tests aimed at their detection and dimensioning are planned and carried out. The INTEGRITY ASSESSMENT is carried out by analyzing the results in relation to the minimum acceptable limits by the criteria used. LIFE FORECAST corresponds to the prognosis of the future stage through the evaluation of the perspectives of evolution of the physical state up to the determined limits.

Our services are performed by a multidisciplinary engineering team, equipped with adequate technical and technological resources. They range from software for calculation and analysis, such as CODECALC 6.5, to advanced examination techniques, such as acoustic emission, Ultrasound, B-scan, Eddy-Current, damage analysis and materials evaluation. The Integrity Assessment, the Life Forecast and the Risk Weighted Control Program are performed, and the reports are issued by the CVR-RBI software. Services apply to all types of equipment, but are commonly performed on static equipment such as boilers, pressure vessels and piping.

MAIN PHASES OF THE SERVICE

  1. Survey of process data, design and history of Inspection, Maintenance and Operation;
  2. Planning of exams and tests to be performed;
  3. Execution of exams and tests;
  4. Analysis of the results;
  5. Integrity Assessment and Life Forecast;
  6. Issuance of recommendations for repairs

NR-13

The NR-13 is the regulatory standard 13 of the Ministry of Labor and Employment of Brazil, and aims to condition the inspection of safety and operation of pressure vessels and boilers.

At Araujo Engenharia, the execution of services conforms to NR-13, including audits for data collection directly on equipment and existing documents. From this data, to-do lists are drawn up and action plans adapted to each plant are discussed with customers. We carry out the main services necessary to adapt equipment and plants to NR-13 with our own methodology and resources. The “Periodic Inspection Programs, and maintenance and calibration of pressure indicators and safety devices” are generated by the CVR-RBI software and delivered to customers in electronic spreadsheets that allow program management.

After collecting the data and processing it using the CVR-Auditoria software, indexes of compliance with NR-13 are generated, lists of pending items by item and by equipment, and an action plan to adjust the situation found.

We also offer the exclusive “Manual NR-13”, which records all the information generated and consolidated, which can be included in the supply.
