METALLURGY AND MATERIALS
FAILURE ANALYSIS
Determining the deterioration mechanisms and root causes of equipment failures. The service is carried out through the interpretation of equipment design data, its operation, inspection and maintenance history, the results of observations and non-destructive examinations performed on site, and the results of examinations and laboratory tests on damaged parts, such as such as optical and electronic metallographic analysis, mechanical tests and chemical analysis of materials, residues and corrosion products. Preventive measures are indicated to eliminate or control the causes, recommendations for repairs and complementary exams to determine the extent of the damage.
DAMAGE ANALYSIS
Determining the deterioration mechanisms and root causes of damage detected during equipment inspections. The service is performed through the interpretation of equipment design data, its operation, inspection and maintenance history, the results of observations and non-destructive examinations performed on site, and the results of examinations and laboratory tests in metallographic replicas, such as optical and electronic metallographic analysis and chemical analysis of materials, residues and corrosion products. Preventive measures are indicated to eliminate or control the causes, recommendations for repairs and complementary exams to determine the extent of the damage.
METALLOGRAPHIC REPLICAS
Execution of sanding, polishing, chemical attack and extraction of metallographic replicas directly on the equipment, interpretation of the microstructure, microstructural alterations and microscopic physical defects, in the optical or electronic microscope.
OPTICS
Execution of cutting, embedding, sanding, polishing, chemical etching of samples for metallographic examination in the optical microscope; determination of microstructure, microstructural changes and physical damage. It can be qualitative, or quantitative when phase proportions are determined, and dimensioning of damage or layers (corrosion products, magnetite, coatings, etc.

ELECTRONICS (SEM)
Execution of cutting, embedding, sanding, polishing, chemical etching of samples for metallographic examination in the scanning electron microscope (SEM); determination of microstructure, microstructural changes and physical damage. Linear dimensions and spot chemical analysis by EDS can be measured simultaneously.
CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
Chemical analysis of materials, corrosion products and residues to support material identification, corrosion studies, failure analysis and damage analysis. Analysis techniques are used by Optical Spectrometry, wet, EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectrum), FRX (X-Ray Fluorescence) and DRX (X-Ray Diffraction).
MECHANICAL TESTS
Mechanical tensile, charpy, bending, hardness, microhardness, fatigue and accelerated creep tests are performed. These tests are typically used in determining the mechanical properties of materials, in Equipment Integrity Assessments and Failure Analysis.
