We apply acoustic emission tests to monitor metallic structures, such as overhead cranes and load lifting equipment. Cracks caused by fatigue due to the cyclic loading typical of crane operation can be detected, and often located, by acoustic emission. Our procedures, developed by EA Brasil specifically for cranes, are applied in operation.
