Today’s technical bulletin features a solution developed by Araujo Engenharia for precise mapping and sizing, the technique of 3D Laser Scanning.
Watch the video below:
The technique can be used for several applications, such as:
– Mapping and sizing of thickness losses in any component;
– Mapping and sizing of deformations in equipment sides such as pressure vessels and storage tanks;
– Inspection of boiler tubes with detection, location and sizing of “oranges”;
– Registration and dimensioning of pipe sections to be replaced (as built);
– Modeling of complex geometries for simulation of sonic beams for ultrasound tests, such as angle connections;
– Accurate sizing for criticality calculations, “Fitness For Service”, API-579/ASME FFS1.
Files can be exported in a compatible format for reading and calculations directly by the ANSYS software.
